Ok this one is a stunner. 18k gold Granulated Dome with a 2.5 mm Rosecut Diamond and Granulated Bail pictured on an 18” peacock black oxidized Sterling Silver chain.
Granulation is an ancient fusing process utilized for thousands of years by the Etruscans and Mycenaeans. I alloy 24k gold down to 22k and 18k and create tiny granules. I place these granules with a 000 paint brush and then carefully heat using a mouth torch to the point of fusing. Each sphere is connected by a tangent of metal creating a sleek and beautiful surface.
