These are my smallest Etruscan Hoops as a post earring! Smaller than a dime - these post hoops hug your earlobe. So freakin’ cute! I like to wear them in my second piercing up and I prefer the gold! But they are also available in Sterling Silver.
These 14k yellow gold hoops are cast in my studio (actually on the deck as casting needs good ventilation) from a granulated master for a limited edition series of hoops. I use fine silver for the original granulation, then make.a mold, pull a wax copy from the mold, then cast using the lost wax process with a vacuum. Granulation is a fascinating and labor-intensive ancient fusing process that can only be done with certain alloys which are prone to fusing. 14 k is not one of those metals. Casting allows me to make this design in hard-to-fuse metals.
