This is a teardrop shaped natural aquamarine cabochon, bezel-set in fine silver granulation with a half round sterling silver shank cast from an original wax carved band.

Granulation is a controlled fusing process that has been utilized for thousands of years. This unique surface will get more interesting with wear. The components, sheet, wire and granules are made in my studio all from a fine silver ingot. The granules are individually placed and fused with a mouth torch.
