I mean whoa. Whoa! This piece is almost too amazing. The center stone in the amulet is an amazing bi-color pink and grey-purple tourmaline with a matching grey-purple tourmaline with a rose cut diamond at top and bottom surrounded by lovely 18k granulation and with a granulated bail.
This amazing piece would look lovely on my viking knit gold chain, or a thicker cable chain or wheat chain. But it looks pretty terrific on oxidized silver chain, too.
I started this before Hurricane Helene as my pièce de résistance for the South Highland Craft Guild's October Show, which was going to be my first in-person show since the pandemic began. Then we got hit by Hurricane Helene and our area was destroyed. The power was out for 21 days at my house and instead of making anything I was starting generators and cooking weird meals and scrambling for money for generator fuel to get water from the well. I almost melted this piece down for the gold several times. But I didn't and now it's finally finished! I have been holding on to the large tourmaline for about 2 decades waiting for inspiration to strike. And then I found the purple matching tourmaline and the design came to me in a flash and now here it is.
